Introducing the Arboraceous Hat knitting pattern. This hat can be made holding two strands together (1 dk wt and 1 mohair) for a size small/medium or you can leave out the mohair for a smaller hat.  To make a size large, try using worsted weight yarn or larger knitting needles.

  1. arboraceous – abounding in trees; “an arboreous landscape”; “violets in woodsy shady spots”; “a woody area near the highway” arboreous, woodsy, woody. wooded – covered with growing trees and bushes etc; “wooded land”; “a heavily wooded tract.”

Materials:

US size 4/3.5 mm- 32”/80 cm length circular knitting needles

US size 5/3.75 mm- 32”/80 cm length circular knitting needles

US size 5/3.75 mm- 16”/40 cm length circular knitting needles or magic loop or dpns

The Autumn Acorn BFL – DK wt. – 100 g/245 yds. (I used approx. 60 grams/147 yards)

The Autumn Acorn mohair/silk- lace wt. –50 g/459 yds.  (I used approx. 15 grams/70 yds)
