Enchanted Farmhouse Fingerless Mitts
This Enchanted Farmhouse Free Knitting Pattern for Ladies’ Mittens creates a pretty pair of fingerless mitts with delicate lace, textured ribbing, and shaped thumbs. The free knitting pattern is designed for ladies who want a warm layer for their hands while still keeping their fingers free.
A flowing zigzag lace panel runs along the back of each hand, while beaded ribbing adds texture around the cuffs, upper edges, and thumbs. These knitted mittens have a soft farmhouse feel and can be worn for everyday tasks, crafting, writing, or simply keeping your hands warm on cooler days.
The free pattern includes four adult sizes from small through extra large. Each mitten is shaped separately for the right and left hand, helping the finished fingerless gloves fit comfortably around the hand and thumb.

How to Knit Fingerless Mittens
This free knitting pattern is worked in the round, with separate instructions for the right and left mitts. You can use double-pointed needles, a small circular needle, or a longer circular needle for magic loop, depending on your preferred way to knit small circumferences.
The lighter version uses fingering-weight yarn held with lace-weight yarn, or a lightweight yarn held double. You can also substitute a single strand of DK-weight yarn for a denser pair of knitted mittens with less drape.
The design uses stockinette, beaded ribbing, simple lace knitting, yarn overs, increases, decreases, and shaped thumb gussets. You’ll also place stitches on waste yarn, pick up stitches around the thumb, and bind off in pattern. With its lace panel and shaping, this is a good intermediate knitting project for adults who are comfortable working in the round.
