    DECREASE SECTION:

On the 4th row (RS), dec 1 st by k until 2 sts are left, then k2tog.

K 3 rows remembering to work icord edging on WS rows. BO loosely using your favorite method.

    RUFFLE:

Before adding your ruffle, it’s important to block your shawl. Soak it in warm water, roll in a towel to remove excess water. Lay it flat, reshape and allow to fully dry.

With RS facing, pick up sts all along the bottom V of the shawl. I picked up approx 226 sts for my fingering wt shawl and 184 sts for my DK wt shawl; you may have less sts or more sts and that’s just fine! Pick up 2 additional sts at the very center of the triangle point.

With RS facing, using CC, kfb of ea st (this will double the amount of sts on your needle; I had 452 sts for my fingering wt shawl and 368 sts for my DK wt shawl).

K 7 rows back and forth in garter st. BO loosely using “Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy BO” on every 4th st (in other words, by adding a YO before your BO on every 4th st).

    Weave in all ends.

    FINISHING + BLOCKING:

Soak shawl in warm water and mild detergent for one hour. Roll shawl in towel to remove most of the water. Place damp garment on a flat surface, reshape and allow to dry fully. Clip all loose ends that were previously woven in.
