How To Make A Patchwork Crochet Blanket
This modern patchwork crochet blanket free pattern is designed to be easy and enjoyable, especially for beginners.
Using a simple granny square approach, you’ll create individual squares that come together to form a stunning afghan with a quilt-inspired style.
If you’re wondering how to get started, all you need is DK weight 3 yarn and a 6 mm (J) crochet hook. Or, if you prefer, you could also use worsted weight 4 yarn for a slightly different feel.
The step-by-step nature of this free crochet pattern makes it super approachable, even if this is your first patchwork blanket project.
Each square in this modern crochet pattern measures approximately 9.5”, and the finished blanket size is a 50″ square, making it the perfect throw size.
One of the best things about this project is that it’s easy to adjust size, just add or subtract squares to make it your own.
You’ll use around 3097 yards of yarn in total, and it’s a good idea to block for best results so your squares line up beautifully when assembling.
